Based in Orpington, Bromley, A to Z Logistic Solutions offers a wide range of delivery services including same-day, next-day and international deliveries, with specialist expertise in pallet distribution.

As part of the APC Overnight network, A to Z joins more than 100 independent, entrepreneurial delivery and collection specialists who benefit from the collective group expertise, whilst maintaining their autonomy and independence. This includes responsibility for its own IT and telephone networks, making sure customers can make bookings, manage their account, and that systems are safe, secure and reliable, even as the business grows.

Meeting customer expectations in a scalable business

A to Z Logistic Solutions had a long-standing IT support partner in place, but never felt like they truly understood the delivery company’s needs. Despite being left unsatisfied with service levels, the directors were reluctant to switch for a number of years because of concerns over business continuity. A previous attempt at upgrading the company’s antiquated IT systems was unsuccessful, which inevitably knocked confidence.

 

Overcoming hesitation with enhanced confidence

In March 2024, A to Z Logistic Solutions turned to Docex360, who immediately set about taking the necessary steps to build a plan for seamless transition and immediately elevate the level of service.

Docex360 took over responsibility for (and enhanced) legacy systems, security and configurations, which included moving the entire IT infrastructure from on-premise to cloud-based utilising Microsoft Azure. Switching from an outdated platform to a more
modern, secure and scalable cloud-based solution ensures the business can adapt to change, improve technical processes, boost cyber security and free up space in its building by removing the need for servers. It also has greater visibility for business reporting and
management information.

Although it’s a common barrier to switching IT suppliers, there is no reason for business continuity issues when moving to the cloud, as most of the work can be done behind the scenes. In fact, many customers are surprised how seamless the switch can be.
